Spica - Fixed Star Talisman
Spica - Fixed Star Astrological Talisman
"Under the Spike they made the image of a bird, or of a man laiden with merchandise; it conferreth riches, and maketh one overcome contentions, it taketh away scarcity and mischeif." -Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa, Three Books of Occult Philosophy, Book II Chapter IXVII
Modeled by hand in hard carvers wax, and cast in .999 Silver. The image chosen for this talisman is that of a 'celestial bird'; a composite creature drawing upon various birds of paradise. Above and below the image are engraved the medieval glyphs of Spica from Liber Hermetis (above), and Agrippa (below). Set in the center is a 1.5 carat Emerald; the precious gem under the rulership of Spica according to traditional sources.
The Spica Talisman was cast on January 19th, 2017, at precisely 12:00 AM EST; with the Moon and Jupiter rising on the ascendant, conjunct the fixed star Spica. The pouring of the talisman was accompanied by petitions and suffumigation of white sage; the ritual drawing heavily upon the planetary rituals put forth in the medieval grimoire of astrological magic, 'Picatrix'. Post-casting the talisman was polished with an extract of sage and wormwood.
"[Spica] increases gold, accumulate riches, bring victory in lawsuits, and free men from evil and anguish." -Liber Hermetis, 'Hermes on the 15 Fixed Stars'
The Spica Talisman includes a 20" sterling silver chain, and arrives in a black leatherette pendant box.
